The following are examples of Locke's Nasby Papers.

CautionPetroleum Vesuvius Nasby was, like Archie Bunker from All in the Family or South Park's Cartman, a character who was created for an audience to love to hate.  Locke was lampooning Nasby's views, not advocating them.  These excerpts contain language and attitudes that (thanks to activists like Nasby) today are considered highly racist and offensive.

Also, modern readers should remember that in America of the 1800s, the Republicans were the more liberal political party.  (Abraham Lincoln, for example, was a Republican.)  The Democrats were the conservatives of that time.
