The Department of Communication Studies' intramural sports team was established in the Spring of 2002.  Christened the "Fighting Commies," the team is made up of students and faculty from the Communication Studies Department here at North Texas.  This intramural team is a great opportunity for COMM. Majors to get together outside of classes to relax and have fun as a group.  The team also offers the chance for those who are new in the department to get to know others who are in their field of study as well.  Overall the team offers a great chance to have some fun, get to know others in the department, and get some exercise!

 

The Commies have participated in both softball and volleyball so far, with both Co-Rec and Women's teams.  In Fall 02 the Fighting Commies Women's volleyball team finished 3rd for the season.
