The purpose of this course is to help the student understand and
enjoy the art of storytelling, increase performing skills, learn
the basic mechanics of narratives, and sharpen critical skills
through the performance of stories. COM 3860 provides
opportunities to participate in performances as adaptor,
collector, performer, and critic. Written work is assigned and
two examinations are given, but the primary focus of the course
is the exploration of narratives through the medium of vocal and
physical performance.
