References reminders from APA (5th ed.)
- The first line of a reference is not indented; subsequent lines are.
- Article titles are not italicized nor or they placed in quotation marks.
Capitalize only the first letter of the first word of the article title,
subtitle, and proper nouns.
- The title of the periodical or book appears in uppercase and lowercase
letters.
- Italicize the volume numbers of journals (sec. 4.11), and give issue
numbers (not italicized) if and only if each issue of the journal begins on
page 1 (see ex. #2 on p. 240).
- For publication information (sec. 4.14)
* Give the name of the city and, if the city is not well known, the postal
abbreviation for the state
* For publishers, write out the names of associations, corporations,
university presses, but omit terms such as Publishers, Co., or Inc.
Retain the words Books and Press.
- If the reference was retrieved from a website, be sure to provide the date
the information was retrieved. (sec. 4.15)
