Dr. Justin Trudeau

Justin Trudeau is a native of Santa Maria, California, and he was raised in Oregon and Louisiana respectively. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in speech communication in 1995 and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies degree in speech communication and English in 1999 from Oregon State University. In 2006, he received his Ph.D. from Louisiana State University. 

Dr. Trudeau's dissertation traced the genealogy of Jack Kerouac's performative writing method of spontaneous prose. His research interests are performance and cultural historicity, performance theory and criticism, as well as performance art. Justin especially enjoys integrating performance theory into performance praxis, and he looks forward to directing and helping students put up their own work at the University of North Texas.

He is married to Jessica Slie Trudeau, and they are expecting their first child this year.
