Dr. Philipsen answers questions
from undergraduates

In early February, Dr. Gerry Philipsen of the University of Washington spent a week on campus speaking to classes, faculty, and university-wide audiences on various aspects of diversity. In April, Dr. Gust Yep of San Francisco State University made presentations of his research into identity at the intersections of culture, race, class, gender, and sexuality.
The Communication Studies department is uniquely situated to serve as a campus leader in promoting greater understanding of multicultural and gender issues. We hope to sponsor many more programs to continue dialogue on diversity in the coming years.
