Robin Robinson, Karin Kinson and Shona Huffman make use of thier time on the Metro

In June of 1999, Dr. John Gossett and Dr. Kelly Taylor took a group of graduate students to Washington, D.C. The trip was a supplement to two graduate classes taught in tandem. The focus of both courses was to help the student learn to decode and interpret symbolic communication as a manifestation of cultural values.

Dr. Taylor and Dr. Gosset visit the White House

After two days of intensive lecture at UNT, students were provided with an opportunity to investigate monuments to American cultural heroes on site in Washington. Upon their return to campus, they synthesized their observations into a critical presentation/performance for Dr. Taylor's class and a research paper for Dr. Gossett.
